Motorola Edge 40 vs Realme 11 Pro+: Price in India, Design, Specifications, and More Compared

Realme vs Motorola

In the highly competitive mid-range smartphone market in India, two devices have garnered significant attention – the Motorola Edge 40 and the Realme 11 Pro+. Priced under Rs 30,000, these smartphones offer impressive specifications and features. To help you make an informed choice, let’s compare the Motorola Edge 40 and Realme 11 Pro+ in detail.

Price in India:

The Realme 11 Pro+ is priced at Rs 27,999 for the base model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. On the other hand, the Motorola Edge 40 starts at Rs 29,999, but with a bank card offer available on Flipkart during the sale, it can be purchased effectively at Rs 27,999.

Design:

When it comes to design, the Motorola Edge 40 takes the lead. It features a premium vegan leather finish on the back panel, giving it a sophisticated look. The device is slim and surprisingly lightweight. The front sports a punch-hole display design. Additionally, the Motorola Edge 40 offers an IP68 rating, making it dust- and water-resistant, which is a rare feature in this price range.

The Realme 11 Pro+ also offers a faux leather design on the back, but it lacks an IP rating and is slightly heavier compared to the Motorola Edge 40.

Display:

The Motorola Edge 40 comes with a 6.5-inch curved pOLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz and HDR 10+ support. The screen offers vibrant colors, a peak brightness of 1,200nits, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The Realme 11 Pro+ features a slightly larger 6.7-inch full-HD+ curved OLED display with a touch sampling rate of up to 360Hz and a 120Hz refresh rate. Both phones provide good displays with vibrant colors.

Performance:

In terms of performance, the Motorola Edge 40 offers faster processing power with its MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset. It can handle most tasks smoothly, including casual gaming. However, more demanding games like Genshin Impact may require lower graphics settings for a smooth experience.

The Realme 11 Pro+ is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC, which delivers decent performance for everyday tasks but may struggle with heavy gaming or resource-intensive applications.

Software:

Both the Motorola Edge 40 and Realme 11 Pro+ promise two years of Android OS upgrades and three years of security patches. However, the Motorola phone provides a better software experience with its stock Android interface and minimal bloatware. The Realme phone comes preloaded with over 70 third-party apps and has a cluttered user interface.

Camera:

The Motorola Edge 40 features a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support, a 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a macro camera. It captures attractive shots in daylight conditions and offers above-average performance in low light.

The Realme 11 Pro+ boasts a 200-megapixel primary camera with OIS and 4X lossless zoom, accompanied by an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. It delivers good camera output but may not match the competition in terms of overall performance. The Motorola Edge 40 provides more detailed and colorful shots in daylight.

Battery and Fast Charging:

Motorola Edge 40 comes with a 4,400mAh battery and includes a 68W fast charger in the box. Additionally, it supports wireless charging, which is a notable feature in this price range.

The Realme 11 Pro+ houses a larger 5,000mAh battery and supports 100W fast charging, which is faster than Motorola’s offering. However, it lacks wireless charging support.

Both the Motorola Edge 40 and Realme 11 Pro+ have their strengths and weaknesses. The Motorola Edge 40 excels in design, software experience, and camera performance in daylight conditions. It also offers an IP68 rating and wireless charging, which are rare features in this price range. On the other hand, the Realme 11 Pro+ offers a slightly larger display, faster charging speed, and a higher megapixel count for the primary camera.

Ultimately, the choice between the two depends on individual preferences. If design, software experience, and camera performance are key factors, the Motorola Edge 40 is a compelling option. However, if a larger display and faster charging speed are important, the Realme 11 Pro+ may be the preferred choice.
