He created history by lifting his first senior international trophy. He did it after 16 years after making his entrance/debut for Argentina. Finally, Argentina ended a 28-year important title drought as they defeat Brazil 1-0 in the Copa America grand finale.

Argentina Playing XI: Lautaro Martinez, Otamendi, Acuna, Montiel, De Paul, Lo Celso, Messi, Paredes, Di Maria, Damian Martinez

The winning goal for Argentina at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janerio came in the 22nd minute of the match after Rodrigo de Paul made a long pass towards Angel di Maria. The veteran striker was counted on sloppy defending from left-back Renan Lodi to take control over the situation and lob it past goalkeeper Ederson. Subsequently, it was only the third goal Brazil conceded in the Copa America Tournament. Neymar Jr tried his level best to complete with the dribble and passes, but Selecao couldn’t even threaten Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

Brazil maintained the pressure as they move into the final minutes of the match. An ample of opportunities were presented over to the Brazilian players but they failed to get any goals.
