 Bollywood Legend ‘Dilip Kumar’ Demise at the age of 98

India’s one of the legendary actors of Indian Cinema, Dilip Kumar’s demise in Mumbai on Wednesday, after getting hospitalized for breathlessness.“He passed away due to prolonged illness at (7.30am),” Dr. Jalil Parkar of Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital said.

He had been facing constant health issues, which could be, considered ordinary at the age of 98, and which unfortunately left a void in cinema and a huge load of work behind, for future movie makers and actors who learn from such pioneers.

Dilip Kumar was popularly known as the ‘Tragedy King’ of Indian Cinema called ‘Bollywood’. He never limited himself to, a particular genre, and always ready to do diverse characters, which were given. In his career which is, more than five decades, the creative legend was part of romance, comedies, melodrama, crime fiction, and more.

 

Mohammed Yusuf Khan Aka. Dilip Kumar born in Peshawar, British India, on 11th December, in 1922. For his contribution to Indian cinema, Dilip Kumar was honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, which is India’s highest award in the artform. Kumar also received the Padma Vibhusan, the second-highest civilian award of India. 

Formidably, he possessed the divergence of being the only Indian recipient of neighboring nation Pakistan’s highest civilian award, Nishan-e-Imtiaz.

Some of Kumar’s best known films include Devdas, Azaad, Daag, Aan, Gunga Jamuna, Karma, Ram Aur Shyam, kranti, Mughal-e-Azam, among others.
